You start it when you choose to
Dictation is an app you open, on any phone or browser on your office network. Nothing records until you start it.

Speech becomes text on the device
The transcription runs on the device itself. No audio is sent anywhere to be transcribed.

The audio is gone
The moment it has become text, the recording is discarded. It is never stored and never leaves.

The text carries on like anything you typed
Identifiers are removed before it reaches a model, and restored in the answer. Speak a few words of shorthand and review the draft.

Not a scribe that listens to the room
Marling records nothing during a session or a client meeting. It listens only while you are dictating, and only because you started it.
Switched on by your practice
Dictation is off until your practice turns it on, and an owner or admin can turn it off again at any time.

Does it listen to sessions or meetings?
Never. You open Dictation and speak a note when you choose to. Marling doesn’t record anything else.
Can I dictate from my phone?
Yes. Open Dictation from any phone on your office network and add it to your home screen. It works like any other note you would type.
Where does the audio go?
Nowhere. It is turned into text on the device and discarded straight away. Only the text continues, with identifiers removed first.
